KANSAS CITY — Steak is sizzling in new menu item introductions, appearing in surf and turf dishes, on pizzas, in salads and alongside potatoes.
Red Lobster is offering a wave of steak and seafood offerings for its Ultimate Surf & Turf Event. New menu additions include Grilled Sirloin and Red Shrimp, Lobster and Seafood Topped Steak, Grilled Sirloin and Fried Shrimp and the Surf & Turf Feast.
Surf and turf combinations have made their way onto the menus of Brio Tuscan Grille and Bravo Cucina Italiana as well. Brio’s Surf & Turf dish consists of a 14-oz. strip steak and black pepper shrimp, while Bravo’s features three 2-oz. steak medallions and shrimp scampi.
At Newk’s Eatery, steak pumps up the protein in a new pizza and a new salad. The Grilled Steak and Butternut Squash Salad includes sliced, flame-grilled petite tenderloin steak, roasted butternut squash, spiced pecans, bacon and cranberries tossed with radicchio, arugula and a sherry vinaigrette. The Grilled Steak and Portabella Pizza is topped with the same flame-grilled petite tenderloin steak, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, grilled Portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions and gorgonzola cheese.
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar is putting its own twist on the traditional steak and potatoes with its new line of Topped Steaks & Twisted Potatoes. Customers can choose a 6-oz. or 8-oz. USDA Choice top sirloin paired with a steak topper and a potato side.
