The Incubation Technology Center will supply Tyson's broiler chicken and Cornish hen and broiler chicken operations in northwest Arkansas.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – After a yearlong construction process, Tyson Foods Inc. announced on Aug. 23, the official opening of its Incubation Technology Center in east Springdale.

As part of Tyson’s No Antibiotics Ever campaign, announced earlier this year, the company committed to building the 75,000 sq.-ft. center to promote the health of chicks, including biosecurity safeguards that include the latest ventilation technology and environmental controls to maintain fresh air in the facility. It is also ergonomically friendly, including the inclusion of robotics to prevent repetitive motion injuries among workers. The center will employ about 35 workers and will replace two other hatcheries, in Lincoln, Arkansas and Springdale, on Randall Wobbe Rd.

“This state-of-the-art incubation center allows us to centralize some of our operations so we can be more efficient,” said Doug Ramsey, Tyson’s group president of poultry. “It was built with the best technology available and with the highest level of biosecurity in mind, which is best for the overall health of the birds being hatched here.”

“The site of this center is just down the road from the original Tyson Foods headquarters building,” added Ramsey. “We’re proud of our heritage and to still be a part of Springdale. We’d like to thank the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Doug Sprouse for all their support and assistance.”
