CELAYA, Mexico – Industrias Bachoco SAB de CV has acquired, through its OK Foods subsidiary, Albertville, Alabama-based Albertville Quality Foods (AQF), a supplier of value-added protein products to foodservice, retail and national accounts. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

“With this acquisition, we will continue the growing of our US operation, mainly with further processed products,” said Rodolfo Ramos, CEO of Industrias Bachoco. “We are confident that we will be able to quickly integrate this company into our current operations and to capitalize the opportunities and synergies we have identified.”

Bachoco expects the acquisition to close in a short time. AQF reported sales of approximately $270 million per year. AQF specializes in hand-sizing, portioning, marinating, breading and par frying.

Industrias Bachoco is a leading producer and processor of poultry and other food products. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based OK Foods, a unit of Bachoco, produces fully cooked chicken products.
