Tyson recalls 2.4 million lbs of breaded chicken products.
 

WASHINGTON – The list of companies recalling meat products due to undeclared milk in bread crumbs is growing. On June 9, Tyson Foods’ New Holland, Pennsylvania, facility was added to the list with a recall of 2,485,374 lbs. of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products. The number of processors recalling products has climbed to nine since June 8.

The problem at each company was discovered on June 6 when the companies were notified by one of their ingredient suppliers that the bread crumbs they were using potentially contained milk, a known allergen, that was not declared on the product labels.

Included in the recall are:

  • Packer Avenue Foods Inc., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – 9,690 lbs. of ready-to-eat chicken salad;
  • Gourmet Boutique LLC, Jamaica, New York, and Phoenix, Arizona – 294,744 lbs. ready-to-eat chicken products;
  • Tyson Foods Inc., New Holland, Pennsylvania – 2,485,374 lbs. of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products;
  • Conagra Brands Inc., Milton, Pennsylvania – 700,125 lbs. of spaghetti and meatball products;
  • Pork King Sausage, New York, New York – 44,035 lbs. of raw sausage link products;
  • AdvancePierre Foods Inc., Portland, Maine – 54,699 lbs. of chicken products;
  • Water Lilies Food Inc., Astoria, New York – 4,335 lbs. of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products;
  • Aldon Food Corp., Schwenksville, Pennsylvania – 18,570 lbs. of chicken salad; and
  • Maid-Rite Specialty Foods LLC, Dunmore, Pennsylvania – 174,000 lbs. of various beef products.

The products in the recall were shipped to various wholesale, institutional, retail and foodservice locations around the US and Canada. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
