Two franchise groups unveil development plans.

CANTON, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts signed multi-unit store development agreements with two franchise groups that plan to establish a total of 17 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Alabama and Mississippi over the next several years.

Lagunita Franchise Operations LLC, a new franchise group, plans to develop five new restaurants near Mobile, Alabama, and three restaurants in Biloxi, Mississippi. The company recently acquired four existing Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Mobile and Biloxi. The new restaurants are slated to open in 2018.

Birmingham Donut Holdings LLC plans to develop nine Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Birmingham, Alabama. The company, which is an existing franchisee that currently operates 34 restaurants throughout Alabama and Florida, plan to open the next Dunkin’ Donuts Birmingham location in 2017.

There are currently 29 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants located throughout Alabama and Mississippi.

“Dunkin’ Donuts’ growth would not be possible without our existing and new franchisees like Birmingham Donut Holdings, LLC and Lagunita Franchise Operations, LLC, who continue to demonstrate their high confidence in our business model, our word-class support team, and the unit economics of the business,” said Grant Benson, CFE, senior vice president of franchising and development, Dunkin’ Brands. “As we continue to work towards our long-term goal of developing 17,000 Dunkin’ Donuts in the US, we also remain committed to providing great products, exceptional guest service and innovative marketing to our loyal guests around the country.”
