Blimpie rolls out Italian flatbread sandwiches

The chain unveiled the Meatball & Sausage Piadina and the Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch Piadina.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Blimpie is adding an Italian flair to its menu with the addition of its Meatball & Sausage Piadina and the Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch Piadina. The two sandwiches will be available beginning Feb. 6, for a limited time.
The Meatball & Sausage Piadina features traditional Italian flavors combining meatball and sausage with roasted red peppers, provolone and parmesan cheese and marinara sauce. The Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch Piadina is a twist on current flavors.
"Blimpie is always looking at trends across the industry, and we have seen an increase in cultural cuisines making their way to menus," said Steve Evans, Blimpie's vice president of marketing. “By bringing the Meatball & Sausage Piadina and the Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch Piadina to Blimpie, we can offer our guests the tastes of authentic Italian street food they can't get anywhere else."
