Pet Plate
The pet food delivery company braces for its debut on "Shark Tank."

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – After a year-long beta test to perfect recipes based on feedback from pet owners, PetPlate pet food delivery service will launch and begin taking orders in conjunction with an appearance on the TV show “Shark Tank.”

PetPlate delivers freshly cooked meals made from ingredients containing no by-products, rendered meats or preservatives and with proteins that have passed US Dept. of Agriculture inspection. The meals are designed by a veterinary clinical nutritionist for nutritional balance and are pre-portioned and ready to serve. Subscription services to PetPlate offer automatic and direct-to-consumer shipping on a regular basis depending on the size of the pet.

“We believe all pets deserve real food that nourishes the body, mind and soul. We also know that pet parents lead busy lives and need an easy and convenient solution to feed their pets real food,” said PetPlate founder, Renaldo Webb, in a statement. “The fresh, quality ingredients used in our meals should provide pet parents peace of mind and a joyful experience for their pets, and we back it up with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.”

Webb spent time in pet food manufacturing as a management consultant and set out to improve on the ingredients in traditional pet foods with PetPlate. The process incorporates cold-pressure technology – sometimes used in human food – to destroy harmful bacteria and lock in nutrition and flavor.

“I am honored to work with PetPlate to improve the lives of pets through a sensible diet of real food that is fresh and nutritionally balanced,” said Renee Streeter, DVM, DACVN, Veterinary Clinical Nutritionist. “When we combine our love for pets with cutting-edge science, we ensure that all of our meals are truly beneficial for pets.”

BrandProject, a company that invests in and works with talented founders to scale early-stage consumer brands, will work with Webb and PetPlate to quickly scale the new business using a direct-to-consumer eCommerce model.
