DALLAS – Chickentopia Drumstix, a Somma Food Group brand, will be served at 130 schools in the Austin Independent School District, one of the top five largest school districts in Texas. Somma Food Group is a diversified provider of chicken, beef, dairy and finished food products for foodservice and retail markets.

Chickentopia Drumstix are sourced from chickens fed a vegetarian diet and never given antibiotics. Austin ISD developed two custom sauces to be served with the product — cilantro lime and rosemary.

“Austin ISD has taken many important steps to providing clean, healthy food for its students by improving the conversation around school lunch and we are privileged to feed their students with our Chickentopia Drumstix,” Kevin Potter, vice president of sales at Somma Food Group, said in a news release.
