Domino's continues to expand after 55 years in business.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Domino’s Pizza celebrated its 13,000th store worldwide today with a grand opening in Auburn, Washington, outside of Seattle.

"The tremendous store growth worldwide is a testament to the continued success of our 55-year-old brand," said Patrick Doyle, Domino's president and CEO. "Domino's has opened 3,000 stores across the globe over the past four years, making the story of store growth one of the many phenomenal elements of the brand's strength."

Features of the new Auburn store include an open viewing area of the food preparation process, an accommodating lobby area with a screen to track carryout orders, energy efficient electronic bikes and a Domino’s DXP, a specialized pizza delivery vehicle with built in warming oven, the ability to hold up to 80 pizzas and special compartments for side items and sodas.

Key Domino’s executives, including Doyle, will join Seattle franchise owners Greg and Kenra Keller for a ribbon cutting ceremony. During the ceremony, Domino’s will donate $13,000 to the local Leukemia and Lymphoma Society chapter.

"I have been a part of this brand for 31 years and a proud franchisee in the Seattle area," Greg Keller said. "I'm so honored that this milestone store will be in our community, serving as a symbol of the great success of this global brand."

Greg Keller started at Domino’s his senior year in high school as an assistant manager and continued to work at Domino’s through college. Kenra Keller started as a delivery driver and started managing in college. The Kellers now own 33 stores in the Seattle area. They opened their first franchise in LaGrande, Oregon. Over 90 percent of US franchise owners share a similar story in which they first worked at Domino’s before going on to become franchise owners.

As of the second quarter 2016, more than 97 percent of Domino’s stores were owned by independent franchisees. Domino’s operates in 80 international markets and had global retail sales of over $9.9 billion in 2015.
