Mike Pruitt will be promoted to senior vice president of support services after Randy Vardeman retires.

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Cobb-Vantress Inc. has announced the promotion of Mike Pruitt to the position of senior vice president of support services and pedigree production. Pruitt, who has held leadership positions with Tyson Foods, OK Foods, ConAgra Poultry, Pilgrim’s Pride and Foster Farms, was hired as general manager for North America at Cobb in 2013. He began his career in the broiler industry over 30 years ago after earning a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Missouri State Univ.

Joel Sappenfield, president of Cobb-Vantress, acknowledged Pruitt’s extensive experience in the industry and is optimistic about his future as the successor to Randy Vardeman, who has worked serving Cobb and Tyson Foods for 22 years and will retire at the end of 2016.

“I look forward to working with Mike and the rest of the Cobb leadership team as we continue to grow our business and find new ways to feed the world,” Sappenfield said in a statement.

Founded 100 years ago, Cobb is a leading supplier of broiler breeding stock to poultry producers in more than 120 countries.
