Eckrich partners with the College Football Playoff

LISLE, Ill. – Marketing officials with Eckrich, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, announced on July 18 that it will become the official smoked sausage and deli meat sponsor of the 2017 College Football Playoff and other major college football games this fall.

Eckrich launched the Road to the National Championship sweepstakes. As part of the promotion, 14 fans will be given an opportunity to win $1 million at one of several football games during the season. 

Fans can look for specially marked packages of Eckrich Smoked Sausage and go to and enter for a chance to win. A full list of games are on the Eckrich schedule which is posted on its website as well.

“College football continues to grow and host some of the most exciting sporting events across the country,” said Chuck Gitkin, senior vice president of marketing for Smithfield Foods. “We are now thrilled to launch the Eckrich Road to the National Championship campaign which will allow us to connect with even more college football fans from August to January both in-store and at the games.”

Good for Eckrich Brand.Donald Eckrich is a big fan of Hooser Basketball and always promoted and supported basket ball in 70's. Glad to see Marketing support of many great products I developed and very proud of Eckrich Family.
