GARNER, NC – Butterball LLC announced the appointment of two senior vice presidents. Steve Canale was appointed senior vice president of foodservice sales, while Suzanne Griffin was named senior vice president and general counsel.

Canale brings 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry to the post. He will continue to lead development and execution of strategy involving national account and foodservice distribution sales. Since joining the company in 2008 as vice president of foodservice sales, Canale is credited for growing Butterball’s foodservice distribution business.
During his tenure with the company, Canale and his team “successfully worked with key foodservice distributors to utilize patron data into the development of solutions for the distributors,” the company explained in a statement. “Canale’s responsibilities expanded in 2015 to include the foodservice national account business.”

Griffin, who joined Butterball in 2012 as vice president and general counsel, brings more than 20 years of legal experience in the protein and agri-business industries to her new role. Her experience includes eight years in leadership roles at Continental Grain. She is responsible for the management of the company’s legal affairs and intellectual property oversight. Griffin also serves as the company’s corporate secretary.
Before joining Butterball, Griffin was a partner at Poyner Spruill, LLP. She also spent three years as deputy general counsel at the US bank subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada. Griffin has a bachelor of science from the Univ. of Illinois College of Agriculture and a law degree from Northwestern Univ. School of Law.
