Target names Tritton as EVP, CMO

Mark Tritton, former executive vice-president of Nordstrom, has been named executive vice-president and chief merchandising officer of Target Corp.
MINNEAPOLIS — Mark Tritton has been named executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of Target Corp.
Previously, Tritton was executive vice-president of Nordstrom and president of Nordstrom Product Group. Before that, Tritton held leadership positions at Timberland and Nike.
“Over the past year, we’ve undergone an exhaustive search for a chief merchant, and I’m confident that Mark’s experience and passion make him the right fit for Target’s business and our team,” said Brian Cornell, chairman and CEO at Target. “He’s a bold, decisive leader, and he’ll play a critical role in guiding Target’s merchandising authority across all channels, ensuring we meet the ever-evolving wants and needs of our guests.”
Jason Goldberger will assume Target’s newly created role of chief digital officer as well as maintain his role as president of Target.com.

. Goldberger joined Target in 2013 and was named president of Target.com
and mobile in 2014. Prior to Target, he held leadership positions with on-line retailers such as Amazon, Gilt Groupe and Hayneedle.com
“Target’s improved performance and results in digital show the important gains we’ve made, but we know we need to continue building on that momentum,” Goldberger said. “In my new role, I will keep pushing our strategy and capabilities so we can accelerate digital’s role in making Target an easy, inspiring, convenient place to shop.”
