'Big Papi' to pitch jerky

Chef's Cut Real Jerky and David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox have formed a partnership.
NEW YORK – Boston’s “off-the-field foodie” is adding meat snacks to his portfolio.
David Ortiz, designated hitter for Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, and Chef’s Cut Real Jerky have formed a partnership in which Ortiz will work with the meat snack maker to build awareness of the Chef’s Cut brand.
Ortiz is involved in numerous food-related ventures including an ownership interest in the Boston restaurant Yvonne’s and his own food label, Big Papi’s Kitchen.
Chef's Cut Real Jerky was created by Chef Blair Swiler and Dennis Riedel. The product features hand-cut, premium meats that are marinated and cured using a proprietary smoking process. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky is available in steak, chicken and turkey varieties.
