OMAHA — Johan Nystedt has been named vice president, treasurer and investor relations officer at ConAgra Foods, Inc., effective April 11. Nystedt will be based in Chicago and report to John Gehring, CFO.

Nystedt joins the company from Levi Strauss & Co., where most recently he held the role of corporate treasurer and vice-president of finance. Previously, he was assistant treasurer of Kraft Foods Inc., and held a global corporate finance position at Altria Group, Inc. Nystedt has a master’s degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden.

“Johan is a proven and experienced financial executive, and we are pleased to welcome him to the ConAgra team,” Gehring said. “His deep experience across a range of critical functions, including financing, M&A, divestitures, post-acquisition integration as well as in building and maintaining strong investor relationships will be a tremendous addition to our treasury and investor relations functions.”

ConAgra Foods has combined the roles of treasurer and head investor of relations, which previously were held by Scott Messel, senior vice-president, treasurer, and Chris Klinefelter, vice-president, investor relations. Mr. Messel and Mr. Klinefelter, who will be departing from ConAgra Foods in the fall to pursue other opportunities, will work with Mr. Nystedt over the coming months to transition responsibilities.

“On behalf of ConAgra Foods, I want to thank Scott and Chris for their many valuable contributions to ConAgra Foods over the years and wish them well in their future endeavors,” Gehring said.
