JBT acquires Novus X-Ray assets

Novus X-Ray will be an important asset for JBT Corp.

CHICAGO – JBT Corp. recently acquired certain assets of Novus X-Ray LLC, a provider of advanced X-ray food inspection systems. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

JBT said the X-ray technology will be integrated into JBT’s Protein and Liquid Foods system offerings. An experienced technical team will support the Novus equipment, while sales of the equipment will be handled through JBT’s global sales network.

“Our customers want a contamination detection system that helps ensure food safety,” Steve Smith, executive vice president and president of JBT FoodTech. “In conversations with industry-leading food companies, Novus’ technology stood out as having an attractive combination of detection capability, ease of software use and reliability.”
