Hillshire Snacking creates snacks for foodies.
NEW YORK – Restaurants have Restaurant Week; TV has Shark Week. Now, snacks have a week-long celebration and Hillshire Brands is hosting. Hillshire created Snack Week to launch its new Hillshire Snacking brand.
“Just as Restaurant Week celebrates culinary experiences, Snack Week celebrates the snacking experience and the elevated role snacking plays in people’s lives,” Megan Huddleston, director of marketing for the Hillshire Snacking brand, said in a news release. “Snacking is no longer an afterthought. It’s an opportunity to go on a 15-minute culinary adventure, and Hillshire Snacking products set a new bar with interesting flavor pairings and quality ingredients you'd never expect from a packaged snack.
“We created Snack Week to celebrate how the boundaries of food culture have expanded to include snacks,” Huddleston added.

A product launch event was held on Jan. 28 featuring Andy Cohen, host of “Watch What Happens: Live” on cable television’s Bravo channel, in addition to other culinary experts.
The Hillshire Snacking line of products includes Hillshire Snacking Small Plates and Hillshire Snacking Grilled Chicken Bites. Hillshire Snacking Small Plates include combinations of air-dried salame, cheese and toasted rounds seasoned with sea salt. The Grilled Chicken Bites are available with dipping sauces including Teriyaki, Honey Mustard, Spicy Chipotle BBQ, Mango Habanero and Sweet Chili.
The suggested retail price for Small Plates is $2.99; Grilled Chicken Bites is $2.49.
