Tristano to president of Technomic

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. – Winsight LLC, parent company of Technomic Inc., appointed Darren Tristano president of the market research firm. Before his promotion, Tristano served as executive vice president. He has overseen Technomic’s Information Services division for the past 27 years.

“Those of us who have been at Technomic for a long time are excited for the opportunity to reassess the business and recalibrate it for long term growth, relevance and success,” Tristano said. “The changes we have made signal the beginning of a new chapter for Technomic, with new leadership, a new organizational structure and new initiatives.

“The future is full of opportunities for the business, its employees and its customers and now we have a plan to go better serve them,” he added. “We have such a talented team and the opportunity to fund their ideas for new products, services, and approaches is invigorating.”

Technomic is a leading provider of primary and secondary market information and advisory services to the food industry. Technomic’s custom and syndicated research capabilities, Foodservice Planning Program, and such web-based information products as the Digital Resource Library, MenuMonitor, Distributor Intelligence Reports and Consumer Brand Metrics.

“Our intent when purchasing the business was to identify opportunities for investment and to organize a leadership team with the vision and skill to make the company even more successful,” said Mike Wood, CEO of Winsight. “Based on his demonstrated success in growing the Information Services division, his credibility across the industry and his lasting allegiance to the business, Darren stood out as a natural candidate for this role.”

Winsight acquired Technomic in September.
