AUSTIN, Minn. – It’s back to the bargaining table for Hormel Foods Corp. and the union representing the company’s plant employees. Members of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union recently rejected a proposed three-year contract.
The Austin Daily Herald reported the main sticking points were proposed scheduling changes, insurance deductibles and a near-site health clinic among other healthcare-related issues.
“The company intends to continue discussions with a goal of reaching a mutually satisfactory agreement,” the company said in a statement.
