Ex-Swift exec to lead CTI Foods

WILDER, IDAHO — Sam Rovit has been named chief executive officer of CTI Foods, a manufacturer of food products for the foodservice industry in North America. Rovit succeeds Robert Horowitz, who will become chairman of the board.

Prior to joining CTI Foods, Rovit was president of Kraft Foods’ refrigerated meats business. Prior to that, Rovit was president and CEO of Swift & Co.

“Sam is an exceptionally talented leader, with a proven track record of driving operational performance and increasing brand value,” Horowitz said. “Over his more than two decades of experience within the food management industry he has demonstrated a deft ability to identify and capitalize on shifts in the food industry. His operational acumen and industry knowledge will be essential as CTI pursues its next stage of growth.
