Contract worker injured at Tyson plant

OMAHA – An employee of a contract cleaning company was injured in an accident at a Tyson Foods Inc. facility in southwest Omaha, Neb., according to a Tyson spokesman. The accident occurred around 2:45 am.
The man was hospitalized with critical injuries after his hand was caught in a chain. Emergency crews spent almost 30 minutes to extract the man. The unidentified worker was taken to CHI Health Creighton Univ. Medical Center.
The man was employed by Packers Sanitation Services Inc. (PSSI), a contract sanitation company that serves protein markets, bakeries, fresh-cut produce and ready-to-eat facilities.
