KANSAS CITY, Mo. – National Beef Packing Company has engaged a new sales team to represent blue leather sales throughout mainland China and Hong Kong.
Paramount Hide and Leather (PHL) is a leading hide and leather trading company based in Hong Kong. Established in 1979, the company has long-standing relationships with leather suppliers around the world. PHL has international logistics and warehouses in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Zhongstan in addition to an international and standardized leather trading platform and distribution center for Asia in Guangzhou's Free Trade Zone. PHL plans to open additional offices in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Hebei and Jiangsu provinces to serve regional agents and other independent companies.
"As China continues to move away from beam house conversion of raw hides, we will provide not only a premium, selected, wet blue leather, but also an unprecedented amount of marketing support for these tanners," said Robert Hein, senior vice president at National Beef Leather. "This appointment further demonstrates National Beef's unwavering commitment to the leather industry."
National Beef recently completed a renovation of the company's 154,000-sq.-ft. wet blue tanning facility in St. Joseph, Mo. The tannery features capacity to process more than 60,000 wet blue hides per week.
