ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Johnny Rockets has signed a development agreement to bring its fast-casual concept to Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
The Daher Group plans to open Bolivia's first Johnny Rockets location in Ventura Mall, which features 180 retail stores, a supermarket, a 14-screen movie theater and other attractions. The Daher Group plans to open additional Johnny Rockets locations in Santa Cruz and La Paz.
"Until recent years, Bolivian residents did not have access to the wide variety of international restaurant concepts that other South American countries have experienced over the last few decades. With more exposure to international concepts and brands, we have found that residents have embraced the Americana culture, see value in our premium menu offerings and are requesting brands like ours to come to the country," said Scott Chorna, senior vice president of International Development for Johnny Rockets. "The Daher Group's vast experience in bringing successful businesses to Bolivia makes them the ideal partner to open Johnny Rockets in Santa Cruz. Its location within Ventura Mall is ideal to serve guests looking for an entertaining and best-in-class dining experience."
The Johnny Rockets franchise currently has 13 locations open in South America with plans to open at least four more restaurants by the end of 2015. The chain now has a presence in five South American countries. Johnny Rockets' franchise partners currently operate more than 100 restaurants outside the United States, with plans to double that number by 2017 as part of its global strategy.
