LAUREL, Miss. – More than 100 individuals attended a Cumberland County Commissioners meeting to protest plans to build a Sanderson Farms Inc. poultry processing plant in the area, according to local news reports.

Sanderson officials visited Cumberland County, NC to gather information on a potential site, but the company has not yet made a firm commitment to build a poultry plant in Cumberland County. The company said a new facility would create 1,000 jobs.

The Cumberland County Commission will hold a public hearing before the commission decides the issue, according to an Associated Press report.

I wouldn't be one bit surprised if the sham operation called PETA and MERCY FOR ANIMALS, was behind all the protests!

Yay! Protestors. Most important however is to stop eating chickens and other animals and not just seek to move a horrible business from one location to another. That won't go to the root of the problem. A poultry operation does not belong anywhere on Earth.
