GARNER, NC – Butterball LLC recently appointed Al Jansen vice president of integrated business strategy.

Jansen will oversee development of Butterball's strategic analysis and design efforts to align and optimize the processes and resources of the company's live operation, manufacturing and customer enhancement process. He will also oversee management of Butterball's competitive benchmarking program across live operations, further processing, sales and marketing.

“We are privileged to count Al as part of the Butterball team,” said Kerry Doughty, president and CEO of Butterball. “His poultry experience and knowledge of the protein industry combined with outstanding work ethic make Al an obvious choice for this position. I look forward to his future contributions as part of the Butterball organization.”

Jansen has 20 years of experience in the food industry. He previously worked for Perdue Farms for 18 years and held a variety of positions within the company, including vice president of sales, club and mass merchandisers and general manager of the turkey business unit. Before joining Perdue, he was senior director of broiler programs with Agrimetrics.

Jansen has a bachelor's in economics from the Univ. of Maryland, and an MBA from the Univ. of Baltimore.
