AUGUSTA, Ga. – Damage assessments are underway at an FPL Food processing plant in Augusta, Ga.
Firefighters were called to the plant on March 27 after a fire broke out in the plant. The plant sustained roof damage above the facility's kill floor. No one was hurt and no cattle were injured.

We are continuing to assess the damages to our Augusta, Ga. plant, the company said in a statement. "However, during this assessment, our cattle supply has not been interrupted and we will operate under modified production schedules. We will continue to supply our customers and look forward to strengthening our relationships, as we move forward. We appreciate the patience from both our customers and suppliers as we continue to assess the damages to our facility."

FPL plants in Columbia, SC and Thomasville, Ga. will continue with normal production schedules, the company added.
