Board fines JBS for odor violations

LOUISVILLE, KY – Local officials in Louisville, Ky. fined a JBS pork processing plant $98,750 for odor and other violations, according to local news reports
. The plant is known locally as Swift.
Records from the Air Pollution Control Board show that the Butchertown, Ky. plant was assessed fines in the past. The plant was fined $37,250 in 2011 and $47,800 in 2008 for odor violations.
A spokesman for Greeley, Colo.-based JBS USA said the company is reviewing the matter.
