FRANKFORT, NY – Frankfort, NY, could be the home of a new meat processing facility, according to UticaOD.com.

A proposal by Full Circle Packing calls for a 40,500-sq.-ft. processing, fabrication and distribution facility on five acres in a business park. The proposed facility would process up to 1,000 head of dairy cull cattle and 1,000 bob veal per week. The plant would also process local livestock, in addition to livestock from New York, Ohio and the New England area, according to the news report.

The project cost is estimated at $18 million. The company is seeking a $750,000 economic development grant and about $1.2 million in state assistance. Once open, the plant would employ 65 workers.
