Fire kills 25,000 turkeys in Virginia

TIMBERVILLE, Va. – A Dec. 20 fire at a poultry house on Maymount Farm in Timberville killed approximately 25,000 turkeys, according to the Associated Press.

The poultry house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene. They worked to stop the fire spreading to other poultry houses and propane tanks, according to AP. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
