Sanderson makes executive appointment

LAUREL, Miss. – Tim Rigney was named controller and corporate secretary of Sanderson Farms, Inc. effective Nov. 1, the company announced Oct. 25.
Rigney will perform the duties of the principal accounting officer for Sanderson Farms, the company said. He succeeds James Grimes who is retiring Oct. 31.
"We are pleased to recognize the contributions that Tim Rigney has made to Sanderson Farms," said Joe F. Sanderson, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of Sanderson Farms, Inc. "He brings the right combination of financial expertise and business experience to this position. We look forward to his expanded role with our management team.”
Rigney has worked for Sanderson Farms since 1990, and has served in various financial capacities for the company. He has been Sanderson’s corporate accounting manager since 2004.
Rigney is a graduate of The Univ. of Southern Mississippi and is a certified public accountant.
