TUCKER, Ga. – The US Poultry & Egg Association is holding a program regarding the proper treatment of poultry effluent called Poultry Wastewater Operators Training Program scheduled for May 23-24 at Tyson Foods’ training facility in Oxford, Ala.

The program is an introduction to the regulatory structure governing poultry plant effluents. Math, chemistry and biology as it relates to the topic will be covered, in addition to the predominant equipment, systems and processes used to properly treat poultry effluent before discharge. Paul Bredwell, vice president of environmental programs for USPOULTRY, will lead the program.

The program is relevant to anyone involved in poultry wastewater treatment, but it is particularly useful to operators and supervisors with five years or less experience in poultry wastewater treatment.
