WHITE HALL, Ark. — An early morning fire on Saturday that involved the Fulton Boiler building at Tyson Foods’ Pine Bluff poultry complex is under investigation.

Tyson spokesman Gary Mickelson told MEATPOULTRY.com the fire was discovered just after 4 a.m. on Nov. 12, when the processing plant was not operating. The local fire department was called and they brought the fire under control within a couple of hours.

“No one was hurt and the main plant was not affected, however, the Fulton Boiler building, which was a separate building used to heat fluid for the cooking process, was extensively damaged,” he said. “Because of the loss of building, the further processing portion of the plant [did not operate on Nov. 12].”

All employees at the facility were asked to report to work on Monday.
