Poultry house fire kills 10,000 turkeys

SWOOPE, Va. – A fire at a Hilltop View Farm poultry house near Swoope, Va. Tuesday night that killed at least 10,000 turkeys and caused $500,000 in damage is under investigation by authorities, according to The Associated Press. No injuries to people were reported

Jim Ruleman, owner of the business, said he discovered the fire when he went to the building to determine why an exterior light was out.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
