PITTSBURGH – A new, frozen Satisfying Selections line from Weight Watchers Smart Ones, from HJ Heinz, consists of meals in a bag offering 30 percent bigger portions than traditional tray meals with heartier pieces of meat and vegetables.
The new meals are available in five flavors: Sesame Chicken, Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo, Ziti with Meatballs & Cheese, Chicken with Broccoli & Cheese and Chicken Teriyaki Stir Fry. The line offers meals with less than 400 calories, 8-10 Weight Watchers PointsPlus values and 25 grams or more of protein in each meal. The suggested retail price for the new Satisfying Selections meals is $3.69 per 11.8-oz bag. Smart Ones brand offers the only frozen nutritional meal that displays the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus values on its packaging.
“When hunger strikes at dinnertime, you need something quick and convenient that can satisfy your appetite without sabotaging your plan to eat healthy for the day,” said Mark Fleming, director of Smart Ones. “With the new line of Smart Ones bagged meals, you can enjoy a complete meal in a matter of minutes that’s both smart and satisfying.”
Meals can be steamed in the microwave or cooked on the stove top. The new packaging format uses 21 percent less packaging material than traditional tray meals, offering a more sustainable package design than the traditional boxed trays, the company said.
