DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Sara Lee Deli Herbed & Seasoned deli meats are now available sliced-to-order at the deli counter. Products, including Rosemary & Sage Turkey Breast, Basil Pesto Chicken Breast and Peppercorn Premium Roast Beef, are hand-rubbed with savory herbs and spices, then oven-roasted.

Fresh Facts research (total US – 52-weeks ending 4/23/11) shows the highly seasoned, sliced-to-order segment is driving strong growth at the deli counter. Sara Lee Deli Herbed & Seasoned deli meats address the consumer interest for bolder, more complex flavors and provide new options to recreate restaurant-inspired meals at home, according to the company. These meats can be used for sandwiches, salads and dinner entrées.

Product attributes include: high-quality, whole-muscle meats; made with no fillers; 11 grams of protein per serving for chicken; 12 grams of protein per serving for turkey and beef (2-oz. serving size); small piece and case size to reduce shrink: 3.6-lb. turkey and beef; 4-lb. chicken and ham.

Average cost of Sara Lee Deli sliced-to-order deli meat is $6.49-$8.99 per pound depending on the region.
