CHICAGO – During the American Meat Institute’s Board of Directors Breakfast held April 14, the trade organization recognized Arrowsight Inc. with its Supplier of the Year Award. The event was held on the second morning of AMI’s International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition, held April 13-16 in Chicago.

According to AMI officials, the award “honors the supplier who has shown a spirit of partnership and has made an outstanding contribution to the success of the meat and poultry industry.” The award was presented by Dennis Vignieri, AMI’s chairman who is president of Kenosha Beef International, and accepted by Mark Moshier, Arrowsight’s president. The Mt. Kisco, NY-based company provides remote video auditing services to meat and poultry processors to ensure employees comply with animal welfare requirements as well as conducting food-safety monitoring services of many facilities throughout North America.

With Arrowsight systems already installed in 23 beef plants in the US and Canada, eight more beef processing operations will implement the technology by the end of the year as will 20 additional plants where pork or turkey are processed. Having started out as an active supporter of AMI’s Animal Care & Handling Conference each year, Arrowsight’s technology has been adapted in other areas of plant operations. Some of the industry’s highest profile companies have implemented Arrowsight’s systems on a broad scale, including JBS USA, OSI Industries and Cargill.

Since the early 2000s, Arrowsight’s Moshier has been an active member of the supplier community. Besides his current role as co-chairman of AMI’s Political Action Committee, Moshier also serves on the association’s executive committee, supplier committee and animal welfare committee.

"We are humbled and honored to be recognized from among hundreds of qualified suppliers within the AMI membership," Moshier said.

Alchemy Systems was the last recipient of The Supplier of the Year award and was recognized in 2009 for its contributions to the industry.
