SAINT CLOUD, Minn. – Gold’n Plump Poultry announced plans to rollout its Seasoned Boneless Skinless Breasts, which are individually wrapped in vacuum-packed bags designed to sit upright in retailers’ fresh meat cases. Products will begin shipping nationally early in May. New flavors include Original, Butter & Herb and Tomato Basil. The products are made with natural ingredients, and contain no preservatives or phosphates, according to a press release. Each 24-oz. package contains four, 6 oz. breast fillets priced at $7.99 per package. The new flavors were offered after market research indicated a demand for new flavor profiles and enhanced packaging.
“In addition to helping us select specific flavor profiles, consumers helped us develop a convenient package design,” said Terra Nothnagel, product manager for Gold’n Plump. “Consumers said they liked individually wrapped pieces, because it gave them the option of using only what’s needed and made storage easier.”
The ability to display the products in an upright position provides retailers with “merchandising ‘wow’ and strong appetite appeal to the fresh meat case,” Nothnagel said.
