KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Highlighting its 25th anniversary in North America in 2010, VC999 recently completed a 40,000-sq.-ft. expansion of its Kansas City, Mo.-based production and office facility and introduced several new products to its growing line of vacuum-packaging machinery.
“VC999 is committed to our customers and our operations here in the US,” said Silvio Weder, the firm’s president. “Our first 25 years in North America have been very good, and we’re looking forward to building on our successes in the next 25 years.”
The additional space at the facility has resulted in faster turnaround times in the production of VC999 products as well as those of its sister companies, XtraPlast, XtraVac and Perbetum. The additional space also provides additional storage space for spare parts and supplies.
"The expansion is just one way we are working to help VC999 continue growing and to ensure that our customers have the latest machinery available,” said Jim Wright, vice president of sales and marketing in the US. The renovation project, which began about four years ago, updated and polished the decades-old facility. “We’ve taken a 70-year-old building and brought it up to today’s manufacturing standards.”
Wright and his team are now able to invite customers to show and tell them more about their products and business. “We are fortunate to have a special, almost family-like, relationship with many of our customers, “Wright said. “Now they can see the machines being made here in America and talk with the people who design them and who make them.”
