READING, PA. — Quaker Maid Meats has introduced Mama Lucia Italian-Style Turkey Meatballs. This product is the first non-beef option in the Mama Lucia line of frozen meatball products.
“Industry data clearly shows that consumers continue to embrace beef alternatives,” said Sergei Szortyka, president of Quaker Maid Meats. “Overall turkey sales have increased or held steady for three decades, ground turkey sales jumped nearly 14% from 2005 to 2009, and turkey burgers are now served in roughly one in eight restaurants that serve burgers. Our new Mama Lucia Turkey Meatballs address this sizable segment of the market with a widely recognized brand name that is already associated with meatballs as well as a longtime staple on freezer shelves.”
The meatballs are available in a 12-oz bag with 15 dinner-sized meatballs as well as 25.6- and 38.4-oz bags of 64 and 96 cocktail-sized meatballs. The suggested retail price ranges from $4.99 to $9.99.
