Huddle House CEO steps down

ATLANTA – Huddle House said Monday that Phil Greifeld has resigned his post as president and chief executive of the family-dining chain. The Atlanta-based company said Greifeld, who joined Huddle House in 1995, stepped down in order to pursue other opportunities. Ken Keymer, a Huddle House board member and former chief executive of Vicorp Restaurants Inc. and AFC Enterprises Inc., has assumed the company’s CEO duties on an interim basis, according to Nation’s Restaurant News
. There is no information as to when a permanent president and chief executive officer will be named.
In recent months, Greifeld spearheaded the 400-unit chain’s modernization redesign. The systemwide revamp included increased technology, the installation of more cost-efficient kitchen equipment, better-quality furniture and lighting fixtures, and a more robust menu with more breakfast items.
