Darling International acquires rendering business

IRVING, TEXAS — Darling International Inc. has completed its acquisition of all assets of Lexington, Neb. –based Nebraska By-Products Inc., a leading provider of deadstock collection and rendering services in Nebraska, Kansas and parts of Colorado and South Dakota. The acquisition includes a rendering facility located in Lexington and several transfer stations.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to add this business to our portfolio and carry on Nebraska By-Products' long tradition of outstanding service to farmers, ranchers, and feedlot operators in the Midwest,” said Randall Stuewe, chairman and chief executive officer.

Darling International Inc. is the largest publicly traded, food processing by-products recycling company in the U.S. It recycles used restaurant cooking oil and by-products from the beef, pork and poultry processing industries into useable products such as tallow, feed-grade fats, meat and bone meal and hides.
