Brinker International entering Russian market

DALLAS — Brinker International Inc. has entered into a development agreement with developer Trio's Group Ltd. to establish Chili's Grill & Bar in Russia. Twenty-five restaurants are planned for development in the Russian Federation by June 2017, with the first Chili's scheduled to open in 2010 in Moscow.

Brinker is one of the world's leading casual dining restaurant companies, serving more than 1 million consumers daily. The company owns or franchises nearly 1,700 restaurants in 29 countries and two territories, and employs more than 125,000. Restaurant brands include Chili's Grill & Bar, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and Maggiano's Little Italy. It also holds a minority investment in Romano's Macaroni Grill.

"We are looking forward to bringing Brinker's commitment to quality and hospitality to Russia and building great relationships in this market," said Alan Sawyer, managing partner for Trio's Group Ltd., a privately-held company headquartered in Geneva Switzerland formed by three business partners for the sole purpose of developing and operating Chili's Grill & Bar in the Russian Federation.

"Russia offers vast potential for the Chili's brand, and we look forward to sharing our unique bold flavors and dining experience with guests throughout the country," said John Reale, president of global business development for Brinker International.

Brinker currently owns, operates or franchises 203 international locations in 29 countries and two territories outside the U.S. Brinker plans to have 500 restaurants open outside the U.S. by 2014.
