DUBLIN, OHIO — Wendy's is introducing Sweet & Spicy Boneless Wings this month. As a result, it becomes the first major quick-service hamburger brand in the U.S. to offer premium boneless wings, it claims, which can be served with Asian, Bold Buffalo or Honey Barbeque sauce.
Products consist of breaded chicken breasts flavored with a mixture of Asian chilies, pepper flakes and garlic.
"Our new boneless wings are as far as it gets from fast-food," said Ken Calwell, Wendy's executive vice-president and chief marketing officer. "Sweet & Spicy Asian wings are something you'd find at an upscale restaurant, and now you can get them at Wendy's."
National advertising begins on June 22.
