The Bacon Explosion has jumped from the barbecue pit to the pizza joint thanks to a collaboration between the creators of the over-the-top barbecue bacon dish and Minsky’s, a mainstay in the Kansas City metro area restaurant scene.
Minsky’s Bacon Explosion Gourmet Pizza features chopped Farmland brand bacon and cut pickle strips, julienned “Bacon Explosion” bacon barbecue sausage and barbecue sauce.
The original Bacon Explosion was created almost a decade ago by Jason and Megan Day. Jason Day, who is head cook of the award-winning Burnt Finger BBQ team. The torpedo-shaped concoction includes 2 lbs. of bacon woven through and around 2 lbs. of sausage filled with bacon crumbles and covered in barbecue sauce.
The pizza is available as a limited-time offering at Minsky’s locations in Missouri and Kansas.
